Park Güell

If you only have one day to get to know Barcelona, you won’t be able to see everything. We suggest that you discover Park Güell and La Sagrada Familia, the Modernisme of Paseo de Gracia and the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona. If you want you can do this route on your own, without a Guide… but it won’t be the same!!

Program

10:00 Park Güell. Initially planned as a housing development for families affluent, it is currently a public park with restricted access. It has been a Cultural Heritage of Humanity since 1984.

After the visit we will travel by bus or private transport to the Sant Pau Hospital.

Before visiting the Sagrada Familia, we will comment on the Sant Pau Hospital from outside. Located just 10 minutes walk from Sagrada Familia, it is the largest modernist venue in the world, recently restored.

12:15 Sagrada Familia. Gaudí’s masterpiece, symbol of Barcelona and visit obligatory. We will take a Guided Tour inside the Basilica, accessing through the Official Guides entrance, without the need to queue. The visit will last approximately until 2:00 p.m.

14:00 Time to eat.
We will leave you here so you can be alone for a while. It will be necessary again to travel to Paseo de Gracia; We can do it comfortably by subway or private transportation.

15:30 Modernism on Paseo de Gracia. We will see unique buildings characteristic of Modernism such as Casa Fuster, The Comalat House, the Palau del Baró de Quadras, the Milà House (la Pedrera), the Marfà House, the Casa Batlló, the Casa Ametller and the Casa Lleó Morera, making an introduction to Barcelona at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century, (its lights and shadows). This route, always downhill, will take us to Plaça Catalunya.

16:30 Gothic Quarter. We will enter the old town of Barcelona , where we will learn about the Roman origin of the city, its medieval heritage, the Gothic,… We will walk a little along the promenade and enter the Boquería Market.
